Reviews of the good, the bad, and the sweaty workouts in San Diego

Stay Sweaty on the Road: Minneapolis

Barre Pro @ Pilates Proworks, Edina

Date: Wednesday, 11:00 am

Cost: Unclear—but it is available on Classpass

Length: 55 min.

Sweat level: 6/10

Fun level: 7/10

Drop in friendly? Yes—there are large lockers for your belongings. There are showers available for after sweatier classes like their boxing offerings. Gear is available, but for a rental fee.

The quick and the sweaty:

Despite it being six (YES SIX) degrees outside, things continue like normal for Minnesotans. While I had a bit of a shock coming from San Diego, for the other folks this was just their normal lunchtime workout. They have a lot more locker/coat rack space to accommodate winter gear and a front lobby for boots. It seems the studio has both pilates reformer area and a barre/other utility room. The barre space was mats as it also doubles for boxing and TRX workouts. It was a little tricky doing barre in a room filled with punching bags, but an upbeat workout with really friendly instructors. Not sure how many people can fit in that class, but I would recommend the clean, WARM studio as a great drop in any time of year.

This studio is actually part of a larger chain from SF to Bogota, so be on the look out. It is unfortunate that they don’t post prices online though—I hate to waste the time to create ANOTHER Mind Body account…
